By moving the POS Server to the “cloud”, hardware costs associated with buying a computer to use as a dedicated local POS server is reduced to $0, leaving only the costs for mobile POS clients and hardware needed for local printing.
The CloudPOS still provides a personalised POS Server, albeit in the “cloud”, which does all of the work. It functions in much the same way as a local POS Server, recording sales, tracking labour, and reporting on both.
A Client “device” connects to the CloudPOS and displays the POS for use by operators.
Each device must be configured for access and must use a secure token for authentication, without which, CloudPOS access is unavailable.
The “Pocket POS” option is best utilised by driveway and wash staff, providing an interface that is designed for efficiently adding washes and tracking wash services through to completion. This is better suited for mobile devices, such as mobile phones, small tablets and ipods.
The “Wash POS” option is best utilised by cafe and retail staff, providing an interface that is designed for cash sales and wash payments. This is better suited for larger devices, such as medium-to-large tablets and POS terminals.
Note: While tablets work well with CloudPOS, please keep in mind that retail POS terminals are more robust and are specifically designed for retail environments, have built in features that allow direct connectivity to POS hardware, such as cash drawers.
