Login From Home

Introduction

The iPOS system can be accessed remotely by ANY computer connected to the internet. This enables you to view your stores sales and progress from home or anywhere in the world.

Procedure - Connect to IPOS Remotely

Start your computer and check your internet is connected.

Open Internet Explorer.

Type the IP Address of your store into the Address Bar and press Enter.

An IP Address is a series of four number separated with dots (203.38.52.114). This is unique address and can be thought of very much like a phone number for your stores computer. This is why it is a requirement that your store has a Permanent Internet Connection with a static IP Address. It will not be something like 192.168.0.1 as those are only used in store.

To get the IP Address of your store contact the Help Desk and we will provide it for you and help you get connected.

Internet Explorer should connect to the store and display the Login Page. Now is the time to save this connection into your Favorites. Select Favorites | Add To Favorites from the Internet Explorer Menu. Give it a suitable name Click OK.

Now you only have to select this entry from your Favorites list to connect to your store.

Login to the system, as you would in the store. Just remember that screens may take a little while longer to appear since this data is being transmitted to you via the Internet.

Troubleshooting

If you did not connect here is a list of items to check:

Is the computer your using, connected to the Internet? (try and go to another page like www.google.com)

Do you have the correct IP Address? (Ring the Help Desk and check)

Is the store connected to the Internet? (sometimes the connections do drop out, Ring the Store and check, they need to be able to access www.google.com from the computers in the store).

If still after this list you are having problems contact the Help Desk for more assistance.
